CLASSES

2024-2025 Dance Season

BABY BALLERINA

AGES 2-3yrs


Let's get those little ones moving and grooving! This is a beginning ballet class that focuses on timing, coordination, and creativity. This class is designed with the youngest dancers in mind!

Class Duration: 30 mins

Class Attire: Pink tights, leotard (tutu if desired) & pink leather ballet shoes 

Class Requirements: Must be potty trained

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

AGES 3-4yrs

​

This is the perfect introductory class to dance. This class combines ballet and tap. Great way to get the little ones moving. Dancers will learn coordination, develop rhythm, and promote creative expression.

Class Duration: 55 mins

Class Attire: Pink or tan tights, leotard (tutu if desired), pink leather ballet shoes, and tan mary jane tap shoes

SPOTLIGHT KIDZ

AGES 5-7yrs

This class is a continuation of our Creative Movement program as we build upon ballet and tap techniques previously learned. Upon the completion of this class, dancers will be able to explore different genres and expand their interests in all areas of dance. This class will perform a ballet and tap routine in our recital.

Class Duration: 55 mins

Class Attire: Pink or tan tights, leotard (tutu if desired), pink leather ballet shoes & tan mary jane tap shoes

BALLET

The classical form of dance made up of barre, center floor work including adagio and allegro techniques. This class is to help develop a strong technical foundation for other dance styles.

Class Attire: Pink tights, leotard (ballet skirt if desired), & pink split-sole ballet shoes

TAP

A fun, upbeat class that emphasizes rhythm, technique, footwork and timing through sound.

Class Attire: Form fitting dance attire & tan lace-up tap shoes

JAZZ

Stylistic class that focuses on technique, conditioning, musicality, and flexibility. In this popular class, students are taught upbeat routines to popular music.

Class Attire: Form fitting dance attire & tan slip-on jazz shoes

PRE POINTE/POINTE

A dance performed on the tips of the toes. This class for the serious ballet dancer who is looking for challenge. Students MUST be invited or undergo evaluation by instructor before being admitted into this class.

​

Class Attire: Pink Tights, black leotard (ballet skirt if desired) & pointe shoes.

LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY

This will be a combo class to explore the similarities and differences of each style. Lyrical being heavily based on emotion and storytelling through movement.  Whereas contemporary is a mix of several dance styles that allows freedom to explore the mind-body connection and evoke emotion.

Class Attire: Comfortable dance attire (no jeans) & tan half-sole shoe, socks, or barefoot

HIP HOP

Fun and energetic, upbeat type of dance that involves a wide range of body movement that combines cutting edge moves with age-appropriate music and choreography.

Class Attire: Comfortable clothing (no jeans) & clean tennis shoes

MUSICAL THEATRE

A form of theatrical performance in which singing and dancing play an essential part. Your student will learn stage terminology, direction, and presence all will building up their confidence to perform like a Broadway star! This class will help establish foundation for future AMT students.

Class Attire: Comfortable clothing (no jeans) & clean tennis shoes

BATON TWIRLING / MAJORETTE

Twirling combines dance, agility, coordination, and flexibility while manipulating a single or multiple batons. This style requires specific knowledge of manipulating the baton and where to hold the baton. Perfect class for future Majorettes in-the-making!

Class Attire: Form fitting clothing & tan jazz shoes

CLOGGING

A form of American folk dance that began in the Appalachian Mountains but originated in Ireland, Scotland, and other parts of Europe. Enthusiastic style keeps the time of the music by emphasizing the downbeat of the rhythm with precision movement. 

​

Class Attire: Comfortable clothing (no jeans) & white clogging shoes

DANCE LINE PREP

This class starts after football season and will teach you everything you need to know for spring dance line auditions. From kicks to leaps, precision movement, marching, and so much more!

Class Attire: Comfortable clothing (no jeans) & jazz shoes or clean tennis shoes
