OUR MISSION

The mission of INSPIRE DANCE STUDIO is to mold and refine individuals to become their best selves through the performing arts. This is accomplished by providing professional, value-based training in a positive, safe, and uplifting environment. At the heart of INSPIRE we believe in building community, inspiring positivity, and encouraging hope.

ERICA MASON

Owner / Director

Erica Mason is from Albertville, AL. She began dancing with Jane Kohl School of Dance at the age of 4 and continued her training at Studio B Dance from 2004 to 2015 under the direction of Ms. Bobbi Dale Rowe. She has training in various styles including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, hip-hop, and clog.


While in high school, she was heavily involved in the performing arts programs including the Albertville Aggie Band, Southern Stars Dance Line, Aggie Theatre, CenSations, and CenterStage show choir, and the VocalEase performance ensemble. After high school, she continued her dance career on the Snead State Community College Dance Team, Troy University Dance Team, and lastly the UNA Lionettes. Erica graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor’s in business management in 2017.


Erica began teaching at the age of 16 as an assistant to the Albertville choir programs and later at Studio B Dance in 2014. She has served as an instructor at Impulse Performing Arts Studio, All That Jazz Dance Co., Kohl Academy Performing Arts Center and Soles Dance Center. She has taught and choreographed for many dance lines in the North Alabama area including Douglas, Crossville, and Winston County High School. Erica currently is the proud instructor/choreographer for the Oneonta and Arab High School bands.


She is so excited for this inaugural season at Inspire!

KENSLEY PLUNKETT

Dance Instructor

Kensley is originally from Albertville, AL. She now lives in Lacey’s Spring with her husband and is a recent mom to her beautiful baby boy. She started dancing at the age of 3 at Studio B Dance Studio formerly in Sardis, AL for 16 years. While there, she took classes in jazz, ballet, competition hip-hop, and competition clogging.

In high school, Kensley was a part of the Southern Stars Dance line, CenSations and CenterStage show choir. In college, she continued dancing as a part of the ROAR dance team at the University of North Alabama from 2017-2018. Kensley graduated from Snead State Community College with an Associate’s Degree in General Science in 2020.

Kensley began assisting when she was just a middle school student at Studio B and then later continued while in Florence at Allegro Dance Studio. She later began teaching at Studio B in 2019. She also taught and choreographed for Boaz High School Dance line in 2018-2019 and Oneonta High School Dance line in 2019.

She is so excited to teach again and share her love of dance with her students!

KAITLYNN WALDROP

Twirling Instructor

Kaitlynn Waldrop is a local from Arab, AL. She began twirling at 13 years old on the junior high majorettes. She twirled competitively with Genesis Performing Arts from 2019-2023 under former head majorette of the University of Tennessee, Jaime Medlock.


She is an active member of the Arab High School Band program. Marching trumpet her 8th grade year and continuing as a majorette all 4 years of her high school career. She has served as captain her sophomore, junior, and now upcoming senior year as well as being named Arab's feature twirler since 2023! Under her leadership, the line received 3 back-to-back best in class awards and superior ratings! Her passion is to teach young girls who aspire to become Arab City School majorettes!

As a competition twirler, she taught a youth competition team and also placed top 3 individually, and 1st in a group dance at Nationals held in Notre Dame, Indiana. Kaitlynn holds several in and out of state titles and first place wins. Twirling has given her the opportunity to perform at some incredible places including the Talladega Speedway, Crimsonette Camp, A-Day, UNA Band Extravaganza, UAB Honor Band, Samford Twirl Day, and 2022 & 2024 Poke Salat Festival.

She is so excited to share her love for baton and God with all of her students and grow the baton twirling experience in her hometown of Arab, Alabama!
